The Wacissa is popular for its clear waters and gentle current allowing paddlers to reach Big Blue, a first magnitude springs, fairly easy. But the most beautiful section of this river is the middle. Also known as Hell's Half Acre as it branches out into numerous fingers, the main channel meanders through the Aucilla Wildlife Management area. River was once blocked by a man made land bridge, that has since been breached. This breach provides a space for the river to rush through from the upper section to the  middle, making for a fun ride into deeper water as the middle section flows through to Goose Pasture Campground.
